thistlebeclover 's review for:
The Lightning Thief
by Rick Riordan
Actual rating: 4.5
I feel like if I were a kid in middle school or high school, I would have given it 5 stars. However, as an adult, I can appreciate this book from an almost nostalgic sense.
What doesn't help the fact is I watched the movies (I know, I know), and I loved them (red flag? Here me out). I haven't watched the movies in years, but I took this book slower, and it was a nice read.
I enjoyed seeing Percy, Grover, and Annabeth go on their little adventure. I enjoyed the pacing, the battles (I hope you know what I'm referring to), and the ending still being similar to the movie (and prophecy). Chefs kiss.
