I enjoyed aspects of this book - namely the supernatural elements and the strong female characters - but due to how many characters there were and the vignette style due to this being a concept for tv it felt a bit surface level at times for a book. I also think this may have even worked better as a graphic novel initially due to the vignette style to make it feel more connected to each other and to be able to keep track of story elements in a visual format. This book has good commentary on race, gender, and family but could have gone further with it for sure.
