Carrier of the Mark by Leigh Fallon

I don't normally review anymore because I have no time (hello newborn) but for this one I must. Because it was a goddamn rip off of a certain other teen saga. Let's see if we can guess shall we?
So we have an insecure girl new to town who falls immediately in love with the brooding boy that all the other girls say is mysterious and don't bother, the whole family is weird. By the next chapter Megan has found herself in love with Adam and he's telling her he just can't keep himself away from her. His sister Anya (*cough* Alice) is super excited to have a new girlfriend when Adam brings Megan over to meet the family. Adams sullen brother Rian (*cough* Rosalie) hates their powers and advises Megan against becoming like them.
Sound familiar yet?
Megan and Adam have to refrain from having sex because there's the potential for death, and there's constant conversations of "forever" and how he will keep her safe from danger.
Get it yet? If you guess twilight, you win! This book is a total copy cat. So painfully done. I'm sure I could spend time and find quotes from each book that are basically the exact same but I think others have already done that and I don't have the time. Just for the love of god don't bother reading this.
