fumi carried this and you can't convince me otherwise

are you looking for a female, less misogynistic version of murakami? then here it is. this feels very similar to norweigan wood (but i prefer norweigan wood) since it is a quiet little story about people and darker themes such as a suicide.

the writing was fine and the characters were an interesting diverse range of personalities so it was nice to deep dive into their lives. i found chie's part to be a bit boring since she was just dropped on us as the "best friend" whilst the other supporting characters were slowly built up through the story.

it was quite slow and wasn't as compelling as a murakami book which i can loose myself in.

so, close to 4 stars but just not close enough
