This is an excellent modern compliation of Greek mythology. The stories live and breathe and are are unified by the narrative perfectly. The illustrations are gorgeous.

It's Greek myths. They're not pretty. If you need a book for kids look for the D'Aulair book or Percy Jackson or Tanglewood Tales.
