The Darkest Fire
by Gena Showalter
It’s been maybe a decade since I last read this book and the ending reminds me why.
Though technically a HEA, it’s a non-traditional one. I mean, it is the goddess of oppression’s bones that make up Pandora’s box, so what else could you have expected? Except I’m dumb and didn’t realize.
As short stories go, this one is pretty good. Fast-paced, but with a decent balance of action and romance. I don’t think I will ever be able to think of a Gena Showalter book in a negative light, so there is that too.
