Romanov by Nadine Brandes

i originally started reading this because i was starting to fall into a reading slump, and because the book was short.

i'm so glad i picked it up. i've always been intrigued by the history of the romanov family and their dynasty but this just makes me want to delve deeper into it. anastasia was one of my favorite movies as a kid so i was sort of disappointed when i researched further as i got older, and found out that anastasia wasn't actually a "missing princess" and the movie wasn't exactly historically accurate.

i was ride or die for ivan the instant he was introduced and was so, so sad when his end came. his and maria's relationship was so sweet :( i was a little hesitant about zash's character because he was so cold in the beginning, but now i just want to wrap him in a blanket and make sure he's taken care of.

i'd love to start reading further about this family and their time as a royal family, so if you have any suggestions, please let me know!

the bonds of our hearts... (i think this quote just made my "possible tattoos" list)
