Fear appeal has never worked with me; so I think I was never going to be a good judge for a story like that. There are a couple of awesome moments (specially the thing with cab driver said) but the plot was predictable. I could actually guess the identity of the villain among a couple of other things. This is low by Doyle's own standards - because normally, when reading him; I'm as clueless as Watson.
