This was my first time reading anything by Sally Rooney, and wow—I get the hype now. Mr. Salary is only 33 pages long, but it somehow delivers a full-course meal of awkward tension, unspoken longing, and slightly questionable relationship dynamics. Sukie and Nathan’s connection is messy in the best way, making me question my own life choices. Rooney has this magical ability to say everything without actually saying it. It’s a quick read, but it lingers in your mind like a song you didn’t realize you loved. If you enjoy quiet, yearning-filled stories, this one’s for you!
