Where the Dead Go to Die by Aaron Dries, Mark Allan Gunnells

4.0

Who doesn't love a good zombie book. I know I do. Yet, it has been a little while since I have read one. This is how you write a zombie book.

Step One: Engage the reader and establish a relationship with the characters including the zombies.

Step Two: Create a good storyline.

Step Three: Turn the zombies loose into blood thirsty creatures that leaves everyone fighting for their lives after they cared for the zombies. As the saying goes "Don't bite the hand that feeds you."

Emily is a fighter. Plus, she is kind. Someone that I could connect with. Although, I can't forget Mama Metcalf. She brought comedic relief and kept the story entertaining. The flashbacks to Emily's past played just as an important part as the present. The authors did a very good job of providing a smooth transfer between the past and the present. The last third of the story is where the action went down with the big battle for survival. Which by the way the ending was a great one. Nothing worse than reading a book to get a weak ending.
