A Million to One
by Adiba Jaigirdar
This is the third book by Adiba Jaigirdar that I’ve read and it’s another winner for me. ✨ I love that she decided to write a story in one of my favorite eras and a historical disaster that has always interested me. What I loved about this book was the diversity of our main cast of girls; they come from different parts of the world and we have sapphic representation as well. I loved their stories and really was rooting for them. I like how Jaigirdar writers her characters. I get so attached to them. What I didn’t love so much about the book was the pacing - some things seemed rushed or too slow. I also wanted more exploration of the Titanic itself. Lastly, I wanted the relationships fleshed out a bit more, especially with an ending, the inevitable sinking, that happens so quickly. I enjoyed the book though and it was 4 stars for me. ✨
