Their Freefall At Last follows Ruby and Bennett, the two in the friend group that have been friends since they were seven years old. Readers can follow them from that pivotal moment to turning 30 and everything that happens in between.

This book is different yet the same as the rest of the Honeywood series. We get to experience such a different timeline while also seeing key scenes from the previous books in a new light. I, once again, read the entire book in a day, though I did make myself savor it and hold off on the epilogue until the next morning. Like many others, I have been wanting to see Ruby and Bennett’s story, especially with the insinuations made in the previous books, but I’m so glad theirs was last. I believe their freefall was the perfect way to end the series and this book’s structure would not have worked if it was sandwiched in the middle.

The anticipation was the best part. You knew/hoped where it would end up, but wondering how it all played out and if they ever hit certain milestones kept me turning the pages, hoping I would see them have their happy ending sooner rather than later.

Julie Olivia has crafted a magical (and at times sob-worthy) end to the Honeywood series. I will definitely be reading them all again soon, but I may have to start with Ruby and Bennett first this time.
