a surprisingly tender story about the experiences of a transgender sex worker in seattle.
i thought this was a very lovely, if not heavy, story. i wasn’t really sure what i was expecting going in, but this ended up being a touching narrative of resilience and emotional strength.
it was fascinating to follow the main character and learn about her life - i thought this book gave an interesting glimpse into the circumstances and experiences of sex workers, and was especially insightful on its exploration of the industry as a trans person.
boydell’s artwork was beautiful; i loved the watercolour style. all of the panels were illustrated with such care.
truly a unique book - it’s a little out of the realm of what i typically engage with, but this is a very important story and i’m glad i picked it up.
