SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

Jessie has been on the run from her past for years. But in the meantime she’s been searching for answers to what happened to her family when she was a girl by becoming a kickass hacker.

After her current boss (from the Russian mob) is killed by the four leaders of the Irish mob, she makes a deal with them to not kill her and have her use her hacking skills for them. They agree to give her a chance.

But the more time she spends with them, the closer they all become. Until she finds herself falling in love with them. Things couldn’t be better, until her past comes crashing back into her life and tells her that the boys have been planning to betray her.

REVIEW:

I really enjoyed this one for most of it. It’s a slower paced book, which sometimes can be tough for me (it’s not my preference). But in this case it actually worked for me.

I loved the four brothers. Loved their loyalty to each other and their personalities. We didn’t get to know them all as much as I would’ve liked, but seeing as there’s more books in the series, I’m sure that’s coming.

I will say this book seemed to heavily focus more on Shane. Jessie kept gravitating towards him over the others, which I wasn’t a fan of (I don’t like favoritism in an RH). But I don’t think it was intentional on Jessie’s part. The other guys just need more page time now.

I also felt like most of the sex scenes with the guys (other than Shane) were cut off (fade to black) and it kind of pissed me off. I would’ve liked more scenes with just the twins and full scenes with Conor as well. Again, it’s a bigger series (5 books), so hopefully that happens in the next books. The sex we did get was super hot though! Loved it!

Overall I really liked Jessie as a FMC. For most of the book she was the perfect balance of sassy and sweet. Until the end. The way she just took off with “her dad” was so fucking stupid and pissed me off so much. How can she trust that what he’s saying is true? She has to see that the guys have been genuine, but she’s so quick to believe him because she claims that “her dad” would never put her in danger, but he did! When she was taken by the Wolf in the first place!

I really hope that she sees reason quickly because this whole random thing at the end was so stupid. I can’t believe how idiotic she was to just leave.

I only had two other minor issues with the book. First, exclamation points are way overused and it’s annoying. I hope this improves in the following books. Also I would’ve appreciated if the author wrote the guys with accents. That’s half the fun of reading about hot Irish and Scottish guys — their sexy accents! Too bad.

Overall though, the book was good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will definitely read on in the series, but I don’t think I’ll binge them back to back since they’re more slower paced.
