I loved this! I love the author's writing style and I also liked that we got to learn more about Britannica. However, there was one thing I really didn't like that ruined it a bit for me:

I hated the fact that Amara got pregnant, and especially the way it was done (with a cliffhanger and an "oh no I didn't use contraceptives" moment). I already didn't like her relationship with Philos - it was extremely dangerous and not a logical decision at all. But the pregnancy just made it worse. It made her extremely vulnerable and it's also just such an overdone trope. Amara just did too many dumb things in this book. I'm glad she made the right decision in the end.
