It definitely has the Practical Magic feel but I didn’t get the Gilmore Girls vibe aside from it being in a small town. With that being said, it’s still a great book. I liked the characters and the descriptions of the town and people. It had some twists that I wasn’t expecting and the ending has me hoping for a sequel. My only complaint is that there are a lot of metaphors and phrases like “clung to her bones like honey” and sometimes she reuses the same word multiple times in a chapter (like surreptitiously) - almost as if she learned a new vocabulary word and was thing to use it in a sentence (lol). This was the perfect fall read though and I’m glad I gave it a chance since I’m not usually a fan of books told in 3rd person (I know, I’m weird).
