The Hollow
by Jessica Verday
I've never read The Legend of the Hollow, but that was the first thing I thought about when I saw the title. I realized that Washington Irving's story was the inspiration and plays a part in the book. Every chapter beings with a quote from the short story.
The whole time the anticipation of what the outcome was going to be, what this books was really about was building and then I realized I only had two chapters left. There were so many questions that would have to stay unresolved. I expected to know more than I actually do since it's 500+ pages. The ending was great - not only for the twists, but for the surprising, yet realistic direction the author takes Abbey.
