This book definitely ranks in my top 10 favorite books, and I'm already looking forward to re-reading it. I read Mary Anne a few years ago and while that book is excellent, Jamaica Inn takes the cake.
The love aspect, which I shamlessly drooled over, was written in such a way that not only did it not get in the way--as they often do--but left you wanting more.
The ending was perfect, just absolutely natural and perfect.
I don't know why Daphne du Maurier isn't spoken about more. She belongs on the shelf right next to the Bronte sisters.
