it really took me about half the book to determine whether i wanna continue reading it or not. i do love dark romance and am not disturbed too easily but this whole creepy stalker thing was something else. i was and still am incredibly conflicted about zade because i love what he's doing, this badass hacker/assassin/saviour of kids and women sold to sex trafficking etc. but on the other hand the whole stalking thing, it just doesn't really sit right with me. i kinda love him tho, his protectiveness is chef's kiss and he is an amazingly crafted character all the way. addie was a little annoying to me, i must admit; i just feel like her character really lacks substance. daya as a side character was great and I'd like to find out more about her in book 2. the plot was great (even better than the spice, which was exquisite, too) and i liked the subplot of addie solving her great-grandmother's murder. the cliffhanger at the end of the book was kinda predictable but exciting nonetheless and although the book needs a triggerwarning for literally everything (!!! do not take it lightly!), i'm so engulfed in reading the second book soon.
