"Hope must be strongest when hope appears lost."
PLOT
The plot was rather slow, to begin with, but about half-way through the book, it got really intense and fast-paced and threw a whole lot of plot twists in my way. I loved the increased pace as it conveyed the sense of urgency that had been missing from the first half of the story and I like the way in which time-travel was explored in this book. Sure, some parts were pretty far-fetched and unbelievable but somehow it ended up working for me.
CHARACTERS
Honestly, I never really connected with any of the characters, except for maybe the Older Alice and Archie. To me, Alice felt a bit naive and infuriating. The way she talked and acted got under my skin, at least for the first half of the story. I loved Archie from the very beginning, he is such a cutie and I want to hug him and make his world better.
