Mason Deaver's debut adult romance was nothing short of fantastic. Being a long-time fan of Deaver's YA work, I was excited for their dip into the adult genre. This book exceeded my expectations and is so full of queer joy, honesty, the most endearing love interest I have ever read, and a lot of sympathy for the South that I had not expected. That was a specific element that was special to me as I struggled to love the place in the South I grew up in, and Deaver made me want to appreciate home a little more. The pacing of this novel was something that really stood out to me because it did not drag once for me and was engaging the entire time. The journalistic aspect, as well as the love for movies and romance novels that shines through the cracks, was a delight. Mason Deaver's writing is just addicting to me, and I am very excited for the world to get their hands on this and see just how wonderful Deaver's writing is!
