The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle
3.0
This is usually the go to book for Sherlock Holmes fans as either a favourite or a good place to start if your picking them up for the first time. I don't think that should be the case, while I enjoyed it and its got a lot of exciting parts to it there's not enough Holmes! For the majority of the book he's not in it and while I like John and 99% of the stories are told from his point of view it's his friend we read them for. I mean Watson says it himself in study in scarlet, he becomes obsessed with Holmes. I actually put this one down and made to start more of the short stories but pick it up again to persevere and when Holmes reappears that's when it leads to any amazing and tense finale. Also it was nice to see Lestrade at the end.
