The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas
4.0

So. Much. Book. Yes, this book took me forever to read. Yes, it was totally worth it. Can I just say, after growing up watching the movies that the book was completely a surprise for me? I'm pretty sure that the filmmakers of any of the adaptations stopped reading after about 250 pages and said "well, I think that's all we need for a good movie." Once the diamond thing finished I still had about 500 pages left. I was like, what could possibly happen in all those pages? For such a long book, this is a disappointingly short review, mostly because there is way too much to talk about. Except I do want to talk about D'Artagnan for a second. Can you say player? I mean I knew he was lady's man, but holy heck, he went after an older, married woman! And she was totally into it! Seriously made me laugh. And then Milady? Oh, wait, if you haven't read it and only seen the films then you will be in for a bit of a surprise about those two. I loved this book, just like I knew I would. It just isn't for the faint of heart when it comes to committing to reading a giant book.
