Book: The Atlas Six

Genre: Dark Academia, dark fantasy, paranormal & urban fantasy
Rating/recommendation: If you like shows like The Magicians, The Order, and Umbrella Academy or books/comics like X-Men, this is a book for you. I would recommend this book to those who love magic and a comic book feel to writing.

My ðŸ’: This book had a super strong start for me. I really enjoyed the world building and the type of magic portrayed in the story. There are very clear lines drawn in the beginning for those you’re meant to think of as the villains of the story as well. Some of the characters read extremely young and the banter reminded me of middle and high school at times, which lost a few points from me. Overall this is a great start to a story but, the ending left something to be desired. I’m not talking in the cliffhanger type way. It just felt abrupt. Favorite characters for me, Gideon and Nico as well as, Parisa. I found the most connection to Parisa throughout which May say something about me 😆 I’m okay with it though. I can’t wait to see where the rest of this story goes in book 2 of this duology. I read and listened to this book and loved the cast of narrators! Though Steve West reading for my least favorite character made me sad and also love Callum just a little bit.
Dyslexia Fact: multiple POV can be a struggle so that would be why I purchased both the hardcover and audiobook for this one. Reading along while listening helps me to better grasp the story when it comes from so many different characters. Having each character be a different narrator makes it even better.
