This is a really good spy novel.  There is a story within a story and very effectively told, I just had to keep turning the page.  It's set in the sweltering summer of 1976 while telling a story that takes place in the second world war.  This is nothing like the his other books - it's not exactly a new ide but was a new idea for this author.
