The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

5.0

This is such a heartwrenching story. However, it is also incredibly heart warming, the friendship between Hassan and Amir and they go through so much together. They are raised like brothers and the bond is tight. Will it remain as tight as another question.

It's a harrowing story of love and loss in so many different ways.

The description of the places they go together and separately is fascinating, really felt like I was in amongst the crowd or onlookers. This is the first of Hosseini's books I've read, and it's been on my bookshelf for so long, but I intend to read more, I really enjoyed the writing style.

This book is so sad and so real. The afterword is so good, there is a charity Khaled Hosseini set up to help fight the ongoing issues with refugees. It must be such a scary existence and this book really brings it all to life. In this day and age this shouldn't be happening, it's so sad. The Khaled Hosseini Foundation sounds incredible and with the poor people of Afghanistan and many other places in the world we need more people Khaled.
