Sons of Destiny by Darren Shan

4.0

It more or less avoids all possible "easy" endings. I'm glad upending Tiny is done through more coy means than a fight, since Darren and Steve already tick that box. The ending cuts, and you almost feel cheated because of everything Darren's been through, but his meditations by the end seem right. Never did the series ever speak down to me as a kid, nor does it now. Although, I've never been a big fan of "everyman turns out to be a puppet or chosen one all along" reveals.
