I wanted to like this more than I did. A queer book revolving around a political campaign with a newsroom setting on the side is honestly pretty tailor-made for me. The premise is solid, the plot structure is good, the writing is pretty good; I just can’t get away from the fact that three of the four main characters are awful, and the fourth one is so passive it drove me up the wall.
