Absolutely Delightful!

I was wary because I don't generally enjoy romance. However, this is one of the few romance tropes (idiots to lovers) that I enjoy.

I also adored hanging out with Emily. She's very solid and pragmatic and while she occasionally makes poor life choices, but they stay in character. In real life my anthropologist sister discussed how sometimes when you go from kindergarten through a PHD without a pause certain life things fall off your plate. Emily is terrible at human interactions and it is a pleasure to watch her bumble through. I did not expect to like this so much and anticipate acquiring the next two books in the series as swiftly as possible.

Finally, if you liked Emily Wilde, I feel you will also enjoy spending time with Lady Trent and should go read the series The Memoirs of Lady Trent by Marie Brennan, book one is A Natural History of Dragons.
