I’ll start by saying this way a fun read. The writing was not perfect, but I enjoyed my time with the book. That being said, the first twist was extremely obvious. I’m not sure if the author intended it to the that way., especially considering a blurb describes it as like fight club. So, the reveal that Flynn and Frank were one and the same fell a bit flat. However, I did like that being the middle of the book, not the end. I thought the story was much better once Frank became the villain. He was awful in the supermarket, so he worked better as the antagonist. This book takes a very interesting look at mental health and recovery. Sometimes, it really is all about the medical balance. Fight club, the number 23, shutter island, and even the misery-like ending with Diner Frank. All in all, I recommend reading this for yourself.
