When You Give a Lawyer a Kiss by Ann Einerson
4.0
I have eagerly been waiting for Dawson's story the second I knew we were getting one, and this book did not disappoint. The only thing I'm upset about is that this book wasn't longer because I just didn't want it to be over!
Reese and Dawson meet by chance one night when Reese literally runs away from a terrible date. They share a life-changing kiss before she runs out on him too, neither of them thinking they'll ever see the other again. But three months later, she shows up as a paralegal at the law firm he's a managing partner of. Neither of them has done a great job not thinking about that kiss three months ago, but working together might make it impossible to ignore their feelings.
I had a fantastic time with this book. I was hooked from the first chapter. The undeniable connection between Reese and Dawson was the best. I loved Dawson's grumpy attitude and his "I hate everyone" attitude (even though he really didn't). I loved seeing his softer side with the people he cared about. And I especially loved watching him fall for Reese and the different ways he showed her he cared. I loved Reese's strength and how she wasn't afraid to speak her mind when it came to Dawson.
While this book can easily be read as a standalone, if you've read her Aspen Grove series, then you get a nice treat with all the cameos, which I loved. This was a fun, enjoyable, easy read and one I can see myself picking up again in the future.
