So I have just read this for the third time and while I stand by everything I said in my first review (below) I feel I had to up the rating to 4 stars as, despite the flaws I obviously find this a comfort read. It is so easy to read and when I'm really tired its nice to just pick up something spectacularly predictable and simple!

3.5 stars

This was a really fun read. Weirdly my biggest complaint is that there wasn't enough tension. Normally I love when a couple has good communication and little drama between them but in this case it just didn't feel realistic.

Maverick just disappeared on Ava and when they met again 18 years later she was cross but barely and just forgave it all. Which is lovely, but the ease with which it all happened just didn't feel honest. Then they had a big fight over a simple misunderstanding and the contrast in the two reactions was just not consistent.

I did really enjoy the story. It's simple world building and gentle storytelling. But a nice gentle filler book.
