Okay, first off I'd like to say the movie WAS SO MUCH BETTER! I watched it for the first time a couple of years ago and it destroyed me, I bawled my eyes out. Because I loved the movie, I needed to read the book as I usually find books are generally better...
I didn't mind this book, I found that it definitely felt like it was a 9 year old talking, and I did find the way he called it "out with" kind of adorable.
It was a nice easy read with short chapters but because I've seen the movie it's very hard to not compare them. I think if I hadn't have seen the movie, I probably would have enjoyed this book more.
