I've honestly spent too much time thinking about these guys to not give this book 5 stars. I don't think all of the books in the series are 5/5, but this one does so much to deepen the stakes, to thicken the plot politically, and to build the romantic tension that I literally couldn't stop reading it. I do have to knock a half star off tho bc

the kiss scene is a mess (an issue echoed lots in later books).
