raemarie23 's review for:
Wires and Nerve, Volume 1
by Marissa Meyer
adventurous
lighthearted
fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven:
A mix
Strong character development:
No
Loveable characters:
Yes
The story didn’t have a big impact on me. I didn’t expect much from a graphic novel spin-off, but the antagonist could be more threatening or unique. I wasn’t a fan of the art. It looks more fitting for a comic than a space epic. All the characters were the same model with slightly different hair.
My real issue is this romance between Iko and Kinney. I can get behind an enemies-to-lover with a character who might not trust robots. But having Iko who has a black escort-android body be paired up with a white character who does not see her as human and for whatever reason, she’s enamored with him?
No thank you.
