Beautiful story of sisterhood, took me a year to finish but it made my heart grow three sizes! I love the way they portrayed the struggles of wanting to be something versus actually being it (Amy wanting to be rich, classy, and wealthy vs the way she acted when she actually was; Jo wanting to be independent, lonesome vs falling in love) most of all, I love how humanized the characters were! There were times, for example, where Amy was shallow and stupid and narcissistic, but she was aware that she was that way and grew out of it (very slowly, over a LONG course of time). I love that it was realistic in the sense that each sister had a very different lifestyle & wealth. I also think this was great brain food because as someone that likes casual reading, I really had to re-read sentences to grasp what they were saying. Every page was a puzzle (which explains why it took me a year to finish!)
