a satisfying conclusion to a solid series. some parts felt a bit clunky or too rushed compared to the rest of the series, but an overall worthy read.
i hate that this series gets classified as YA (it's 100% not), or as a romantasy. yes, it's a fantasy with romance -- but the story is not central to that. it is about settler colonialism, indigenous identity, culture, history, land-back, and generational trauma. it is about finding a reason to live and fight for your people and peace for the next generation. it has found-family, and is authentic about grief, suicide ideation, substance abuse and relapse.
highly recommend the audiobook. Kyla Garcia brings Keera and this story to life.
