The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston

5.0

Went into this book expecting to like it the way I usually like romcoms. But what I didn’t expect was to learn life lessons and cry??? 5/5 stars! Anyways I love these characters so much and I did not expect to love this story as much as I did but I am so glad I read it.

Clementine and Iwan give me butterflies bro I can’t even type this without feeling giddy!!! Somehow this story managed to teach me so much about grief while also making me blush? The writing in this story is beautiful and the way Ashley Poston expresses her emotions is incredible. She managed to put my feelings into the words I had been struggling to find for so long. Grief is so weird and she explains it so realistically in this story I’m very grateful I decided to read this when I did.

My girl Ashely made a point about how books are time capsules and this one is as well. This book is a reflection of who she was in the exact moments she was writing it. She will never be that person again but this book will always be this book. I feel that even as the reader this is true. I will never experience this story the way I just did again, but this book will never change and the lessons will always be there when you need them.
