Tormented Girl by Lexie Winston

3.0

3.5. Honestly I did enjoy this. I’m just frustrated with the pacing of the series. The main conflict is Harlow’s stalker, and there’s been basically no clues other than that it’s a guy and there’s possibly more than one person. I thought it was probably Luke and/or Cecilia, but this book kind of went out of its way to say those are red herrings—or at least it’s backtracking because it was so obvious and wants it to be more of a shock when it turns out to be the obvious villains, idk. The ineffective PI we’ve never met seems to be the only other option, but we’ve not heard from him once. I’m just getting bored of incident after incident with nothing happening to determine who this person is.

On the plus side, I like that Harlow is getting to flex her vet chops.

And I think I care more about what’s wrong with Harlow’s best friend and surrogate sister Max than Harlow does. God, girl. Call your friend. Or does “ASAP” mean something else in Connecticut?
