The Pursuit of Happiness by Douglas Kennedy

2.0

Normally, I love Douglas Kennedy's books, but this one just didn't do it for me. It was so forgettable that I saw it online at Paperback Swap and ordered it, thinking that there was a DK book I had missed. I started to read, and I kept thinking, Wow, this feels so familiar to me. That's because I had already read it! There's just not that much there. No signature themes or scenes that stick with you long after you read (like Leaving the World and State of the Union for me) or memorable torture (the awful Woman in the Fifth). Just forgettable.
