Wow. So the first 100ish pages of this book are incredibly difficult to get through. I mean I had to basically force myself to read through the pages. There are so many characters switching back and forth between their point of views, it was very confusing. However, I am so happy I pushed through as the rest of the book was absolutely amazing. I had no idea what eugenics was nor had I known about it’s history in the US, specifically Vermont. How all of the characters are intertwined was truly fascinating; right until the very last few pages I was shocked over and over again. The ghost aspect was a little hard to get into it, but other than that the plot was captivating. Would definitely recommend even though it was confusing in the beginning.
