Bittersweet: How Sorrow and Longing Make Us Whole by Susan Cain

hopeful informative inspiring reflective fast-paced

4.5

I’m not sure this book would have hit me as deeply if I had read in in a different time, but I think I got the timing right and it was a beautiful reflection for me.

As someone who tends to live in a more melancholic emotional landscape, it’s sometimes difficult to remember the value of these melancholic feelings.  This book is an exploration on the importance of sorrow and longing and how they provide us with a more meaningful and fulfilled life.   Lots of nuggets to highlight and annotate for future exploration and reflection.
