Cold Sassy Tree by Olive Ann Burns
3.0
I don't remember this book being egregious or tiresome in any way. It was summer required reading, I liked it just fine, but topic-wise it didn't hold much interest for me. Teenage Chloe's interests had more to do with intently waiting on the last Harry Potter book and rereading [b: His Dark Materials|18116|His Dark Materials (His Dark Materials #1-3)|Philip Pullman|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1442329494s/18116.jpg|1943518], a new favorite book. Reading a story about the arrival of machinery in small cotton-producing Southern towns during rural, turn of the century America, therefore, didn't really scream engaging. A very solid, very neutral 3 stars.
