Watch the movie first, if at all!
I heard a lot of good things about this movie when it came out, but has also heard that the book was a lot more expansive, so I waited to watch until I could pick up the book. As a result, I found the movie to be pretty disappointing.
Coriolanus' thoughts in the book are quite a different thing than the words coming out of his mouth, which I imagine would be very difficult to put across in a live action film. Perhaps it would be better suited to anime, where the inner monologue is a more common trope, but even then, it would be a bit corny. Coryo is a very difficult character to pull from the pages, which is why I loved him so much (he is a FREAK).
The only reason this is a 4 and not a 5 is because it didn't quite stick with me the same way her other work did, which I read for the first time last year. I loved the premise and the ideas she explored, but Coryo and Lucy Gray didn't strike a nerve like Katniss did.
