This book could do with another translation. The language was rough and stumbling in some places.

Assuming that this would be geared towards middle readers, the tone and pacing is decent. Some plot points are MAJORLY glossed over and there is a little bit of a Mary Sue aspect, but as the book goes on, it seems that the author realizes this and roughs up the character a bit.

The plot is interesting enough. If the story continued in the same volume, I'd definitely finish it, but as it is, with a separate book, I don't know that I will use my time searching for the next one
