Fight or Flight by Samantha Young

4.0

Dude, this was another really cute one! With The Impossible Vastness of Us being the only other book of Samantha Young's that I've read, I really didn't know what to expect here. Between this, 99 Percent Mine by Sally Thorne, and The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang, I've certainly filled my "cute patoot" meter for the month of February, though I wouldn't be opposed to a stretch goal of some sort.

I loved the chemistry between Caleb and Ava, it was super great, almost reminiscent of The Hating Game in that it was a hate to lust to love relationship, but it still lacked that level of chemistry. I am forever ruined by The Hating Game in that no other contemporary romance will ever measure up to it.

I wasn't the biggest fan of the third act and the fashion in which it was hamfisted into the story, but I liked the actual ending and the big romantic gesture. This was very much like an adorable romcom and I was totally okay with that. Great job, Young. You have more of my attention now!
