A Sorrow Fierce and Falling
by Jessica Cluess
I greatly enjoyed this series so, when I started the third book, I knew I had to take a deep breath and ready myself. I tend to not love the way trilogies end but, after reading A Sorrow Fierce and Falling, I feel content in how Henrietta's tale came to an end.
Throughout the series, I found myself going, "I know she's trying to save the country and everything but ~wHo DoEs ShE lOvE~!?" This book, in my opinion, did a fantastic job explaining her several different types of love towards others, especially how they started and then ended. There were cliches and parts I found myself eager to skip over, but overall I think the romance was wrapped up well.
And oh, the action. I really enjoy how Cluess writes a plan then brings you through all of the ways it did and didn't work. I'm not typically one for action and battle but found that this book had a good balance of the details needed to move the story forward without being too stuck on any fight or scene for too long.
All in all, I enjoyed the end to this trilogy and this book as a story of its own.
