This book was GREAT! I love it so much even though it made me miserable at the end!. If you like stories about dragons, science and Georgian/Victorian/Edwardian-style fantasy settings then you are in luck my friend! I don't know how else to describe it but it is v v good!

Admittedly the dragons are more on the feral beasts side of the scale but they somewhat mysterious (much in the same way of other apex predators that are only rarely seen) and feel real in their behavior.

Another good thing about this book is the relationship between the main character and her husband. Jacob tries so hard to enable her interests (but is also very much a man of his time) while Isabella is single-handedly causing absolute MAYHEM mostly by accident!

I am very much looking forward to reading the sequels!
