FINALLY. I’M FINISHED.

If I could give it 0 stars, I would.

This was one of the worst books I have ever had the displeasure of reading and if it wasn’t required for my class, I would have DNF’d it a long time ago. I was looking forward to reading this because I had heard such good things about it. I have never been so disappointed in a book. My professor wanted us to read it for the “queering of stereotypical plot lines” but all I saw was trope after stereotypical trope.

The storylines are supposed to be filled with flashbacks but they’re just confusing and scattered. The characters aren’t likable, not even in a “love to hate them” kind of way. I JUST hate them. They aren’t even relatable. Some had tragic events happening in their story lines and the most reaction I could muster was, “Oh. Sad.” I simply could not bring myself to care about these characters and I am such a baby when I’m reading.

How this atrocity won any awards, I will never understand. Spare yourself, don’t read it.
