I had 0 interest in the series and after ACOTAR, I wasn’t sure that I wanted to dive into another fantasy series.
This series blows that one out of the water. If you’re between the two pick this one; if you found the ACOTAR boring, READ THIS ONE.
The overall vibe gives Hunger Games + Modern GOT + Harry Potter! Rather than the slow, detailed, stretch of a start fantasy usually takes, Yarros throws the reader in stride with the reader//listener (audiobooks). I found myself feeling all the emotions and quickness that came along the characters. Also happy to see some mild (2.5/5
